Privacy Policy — Rosey VPS Backups

Purpose and Google Drive access

This application uses Google Drive to upload, read, verify and restore encrypted backup files and their associated file metadata. It requests the drive.file permission, which covers files created by the application or explicitly authorized for it. It does not request access to Gmail or Google Contacts.

Storage and protection

Backup contents are encrypted by restic before transfer to Google Drive. Authorization credentials are kept private. Source data and restored copies are held in owner-controlled storage; they are not published on this website.

Use and sharing

Google data is used for backup and recovery operations. The application does not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it for AI training. Google Drive and the owner's storage/hosting providers process the data needed to provide their respective services.

The application's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Retention, deletion and revocation

The owner controls backup retention and deletion. Access can be revoked through the Google Account's third-party connections settings. Revoking access stops future authorized operations; it does not automatically delete existing backups, source files or restored copies. Those copies must be deleted separately by the owner.
